Main duties of the job

Job responsibilities

Job Purpose: Work closely with the Trust & Grants Partner and Manager; contributing fully to the development and delivery of the Trusts & Grants income line. Responsible for the preparation and submission of grant funding applications for four and up to five and six figure gifts to charitable trusts and foundations and associated impact recording and reporting. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with grant making bodies and foundations, ensuring excellent stewardship. Complete high-level research and liaise with charitable trusts & foundations to identify best fit between projects and funders, building internal and external relationships with a view to optimising success rates; gather and collate project information and assimilate into trust and grant funding applications; prepare and submit funding applications including costings; produce and plan reports on outcomes within required deadlines. Specific Duties:Support with the delivery of budgets and bid pipelines: Prepare and submit sufficient funding applications to secure significant income through trust funders. Effectively record, monitor, report and communicate all trusts and grants progress in a timely manner to help inform business decision making, using the CRM & other methods as directed. Manage your agreed day-to-day operations of the Trusts & Grants programme, ensuring all activities are completed accurately, on time and within budget Engagement and Stewardship: Undertake extensive research to develop multiyear pipeline. Jointly achieve the Trusts income & expenditure fundraising target as set and agreed with the Head of Partnership Giving Develop and maintain Trusts and Foundations portfolio of existing and new relationships to drive considerable growth. Data Analysis and Reporting Identify new and innovative grant making opportunities. Maintain and communicate technical and statistical information to your manager on a quarterly basis. Collaboration and Coordination: Ensure excellent communications across the organisation to ensure accuracy and effective reporting to funders. Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure cohesive implementation of the annual giving plan from research to evaluation. Innovative Fundraising Strategies, test and learn: Work with the fundraising team to develop new ideas and best practices to improve donor retention and increase annual gift amounts with a clear focus on trusts & grants. Flexibility and ability to support other areas of Fundraising if required. Occasional unsocial hours as required by the needs of the business.
