Main duties of the job
We are recruiting for an Adult Palliative Care Support Worker (PCSW), who will be dedicated to providing professional and compassionate healthcare support to patients through periods of change as their illness progresses, and as they approach end of life. This may include personal care, home visit following discharge from hospital, emotional support, or helping to build memories. What the pandemic has shown us is that irrespective of the primary base of work, the crossover with other areas through times of staff shortage has given the opportunity to learn new skills and allow smoother transition for patients and their families through our different services, with the comfort and trust that brings to them, and as professionals being involved in all of those stages and seeing the difference it makes to them, is absolutely reward itself.
