Job summary

We are looking to appoint an assistant practice manager to join our busy GP practice. You will be responsible for the production of performance and quality standards within the practice. To manage data quality issues, providing advice and guidance to all practice staff in the use of the clinical system. To oversee the claims process for work undertaken as part of enhanced national or local services.

Main duties of the job

To act as practice administrator for the clinical system and as practice co-ordinator for IT hardware issues, working closely with the ICO and Shared Services as responsibility for computer hardware is transferred to the ICO.

You will be responsible for the general administrative and oversea reception duties within the Practice and work with our established processes, policies and procedures to provide a comprehensive high-quality service and deal efficiently and courteously with patient enquiries.

You will have excellent communication skills, a compassionate and friendly nature who can operate in a busy environment with a range of people and professions, as you will be working our clinical and administration teams.

IT skills are essential, as you will be regularly creating searches, data input and monitoring our achievements and progress against national, local, and internal targets. You will also process prescription requests and provide a full administrative and secretarial service.

This role is ideal for someone who is highly organised and an effective communicator who can provide a professional and warm welcome to our patients, ensuring every contact is of the highest quality.

Clinical coding from hospital letters.

To be aware of national, local and practice quality standards for chronic disease management.

To Maintain and recall patients from registers.

To provide support to clinical sub-groups in correctly identifying and targeting patients for assessment and treatment.

To ensure staff are aware of the importance of maintaining disease registers and assist in the validation process.

To provide advice and support for clinical sub-groups and to produce regular reports on the progress of these groups in achieving their targets.

To assist in the production of information for clinical audit as requested by the clinical sub-groups.

Data quality

To work with the ICO to validate patient information, performing regular checks and quality audits.

To be responsible for mapping patient information flows.

To provide support and training for current and new staff ensuring that data quality guidelines are understood and adhered to.
