Job summary
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Registered Nurse to join
our friendly Inpatient Unit team providing specialist palliative to patients in
our 18-bedded unit.
Main duties of the job
We are
looking for an enthusiastic nurse with experience of palliative care, who is a
team player, keen to learn and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. You
must have some experience of leading a team, have good communication skills and
proven organizational skills.
In
addition, we are looking for someone who is interested in tissue viability in
particular the management of pressure ulcers for our vulnerable patients. We
would like the post holder to have a relevant qualification, or at least the
willingness to undertake relevant study in this area.

In-patient Unit palliative care team.
They will seek to provide a high standard of holistic, skilled,
patient-centred, palliative care to all in-patients. They will assist the Unit Manager/s in
supervision and training of junior staff and in service development
issues. They will act as shift
coordinator as required by leading the team and ensuring good communication
from shift to shift.
The
post will also assist in the management of tissue viability on the IPU,
providing leadership, guidance and training on all tissue-viability issues
resulting in the excellent management of pressure ulcers and other wounds, and
the prevention of pressure ulcers whenever possible throughout the Hospice.
