Job summary
Full time 37.5 hours a week (part time 30 hours / 4 days may be considered)

We are seeking a Principal Psychologist who can support us with expanding and leading the development of our Clinic and private therapy services. We are based in in Northampton where the majority of sessions take place however we have a growing on-line clinic and ambitions to further expand the services we offer during 2024. Apart from expanding our existing therapy provision, we are also planning to offer a DBT community service in this financial year.
The successful candidate will join our existing team of passionate permanent and associate clinicians and lead on the delivery of a range of psychotherapeutic interventions to private and healthcare funded clients. You will join a team equipped with extensive experience in providing and supervising a range of NICE approved psychotherapy interventions such as CBT, Cognitive Analytical Therapy, EMDR, DBT and Schema Therapy along with assessment skills in psychometric tools. Experience in running and delivering DBT-based interventions is desirable but we are able to provide training and ongoing support through the existing expertise within the Charity.
You will form part of the wider Community Partnerships senior leadership team and have access to other senior clinicians working in our other services as well as those working within the wider Charity for peer support as well as a robust CPD programme.

The Role
This role will suit an experienced Qualified Psychologist who is ready to progress or someone already at Principal Level and would thrive in a role that combines both clinical and managerial responsibilities and development opportunities. This is a leadership role in which the applicant will be required to draw upon their clinical experience in direct patient work and in developing and managing the service.
The Postholders leadership responsibility will relate to the smooth running of the clinic with regards to clinical governance. This includes responding to and triaging referrals, monitoring and reporting on treatment outcomes and providing clinical supervision to colleagues within the service.
The post holder will report to the Consultant Psychiatrist and receive clinical supervision and mentoring from the Associate Director of Psychology. Our Private Therapy Service is one of several services within the Outpatients division and the post holder will therefore be part of a friendly and supportive wider clinical team. They will also be able to take advantage of the extensive CPD opportunities that St Andrews offers.
