Our services in Northampton, set in 150 plus acres of woodland greenery, are spread across 5 Divisions Neuropsychiatry, Medium Secure, Low Secure and Specialist Rehabilitation, Learning Disability and Autism, and CAMHS. We have a number of unique specialist national services including for Acquired Brain Injury (Secure and Non-Secure), Deaf Forensic, Huntingtons disease, Older Adults (Secure and Non-Secure), Blended Womens (one of 3 National Pilots) and specialist inpatient DBT.
About the ward Church
We are looking forward to the opening of Church Ward, a new 10-bed ward in the Neuropsychiatry Division. It will be a non-secure male admission ward for Acquired Brain Injury. Our purpose on Church Ward will be to support patients with complex mental health and physical needs, to develop co-produced individualised care plans, to provide neuro-behavioural rehabilitation and enable patients to move on to the community. Our aim is to engage patients in their rehabilitation and deliver exceptional individualised care. You will be a key member of a multi-disciplinary team, to truly make a difference to our patients lives.
The Service
OurNeuropsychiatry Divisionoffers specialist services for patients with Acquired Brain Injury, Dementia and Huntingtons disease. With the opening of Church Ward the Division will have 130 beds across these services. The care and rehabilitation offered in the Division is recognised for being at the forefront of innovation, for its excellence in service delivery and for its ability to manage and reduce the risks associated with these conditions.
The Neuropsychiatry Division offers an excellent opportunity to deliver value-based healthcare focusing on clinical outcomes. The service uses a variety of outcomes, both patient and quality improvement focused, to complement clinical decisions and guide strategic direction. Thisservice is forward-thinking, open to new ideas and a holistic approach is taken to patient care and treatment.
About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic Specialty Doctor to join our Neuropsychiatry Team. The Neuropsychiatry service in Northampton has a vacancy for a Specialty Doctor to work with patients with Acquired Brain Injury. On Church Ward, you will be working with a Consultant Psychiatrist including a full multidisciplinary team.
This is a full time role, with 0.5 WTE as Specialty Doctor for Church Ward and 0.5 WTE working on one of our other Neuropsychiatry wards. Opportunities to work part-time are available. The successful candidate will fulfil the duties of a Specialty Doctor, including reviewing and managing the mental and physical health of patients under your care, working with your multidisciplinary team and other stakeholders as required.
Further career progression e.g., Section 12(2) approval, CESR, will be encouraged and supported.

Essential
GMC registration will be required.
Desirable
MRCPsych or equivalent
Experience of working in Acquired Brain Injury is desirable, though not essential.
