Job summary

Our focus as a profession is that we believe our staff are our most valuable asset; and excellent, well-trained and motivated staff will help us deliver outstanding Occupational Therapy, creating a culture of compassion, collaboration and continuous improvement.

As a highly regarded service embedded within the charity, our vision is to deliver outstanding treatment and care. We have an established therapy programme to help support recovery by offering creative and holistic interventions with both a physical and mental well-being approach to aid treatment and recovery.

Main duties of the job

Occupational Therapy is a highly regarded profession within our psychiatric intensive care unit. Applicants need to have the appetite to work alongside the Occupational Therapist in developing a robust and efficient service. The post requires resourcefulness and creativity when facilitating interventions. Activities must be client-centred and applicants require the skills to use themselves therapeutically to motivate individuals and grade activity according to ward and patient needs’.

As a CQC regulated provider of healthcare, from 1 April 2022 we will be required to ensure that all of our workforce have had both first and second COVID-19 vaccinations (except for those who can demonstrate they are medically exempt).

About us

We are looking for individuals who are keen to work within a fast-paced and intensive environment; supporting the provision of an Occupational Therapy service alongside a wide Multi-Disciplinary Team.

The PICU units consist of 10-bedded wards offering care and treatment for both men and women aged 18-65. You will be expected to work across both wards, with patients who are experiencing an acute episode of their mental illness and will therefore require knowledge and skills in working compassionately, creatively and safely with this patient group.
