This is a fantastic opportunity to join our new Neurodiversity Support Team, which will run until the end of March 2026.
Due to the growing waiting lists for access into ADHD services, the aim of the Neurodiversity Support Team is to provide support, guidance and signposting to people awaiting a formal ADHD assessment. The team will also provide information about alternative assessment providers and facilitate with onward referrals to these organizations when appropriate.
The Neurodiversity Pathway Navigator will work under the direction of the Neurodiversity Pathway Coordinator and will have the exciting opportunity to help shape this new service as it evolves over the coming months
Main duties of the job
The Neurodiversity Pathway Navigator will:
- Complete comprehensive and holistic assessments of need for patients with suspected ADHD who fit the criteria for the service within agreed timeframes.
- Identify clinical risks and escalate when necessary to the Neurodiversity Pathway Coordinator.
- Work from the agreed work premises and contribute to the overall smooth running of the service.
- Develop collaborative Wellbeing support plans with individuals with ADHD symptoms which promote choice and complement any medical treatment or advice.
- Discuss alternative providers of ADHD assessments enabling clinically appropriate and informed patient-choice as part of a joint management plan. In cases where it is decided to refer, all necessary clinical admin will be completed as per agreed protocols.
- Identify any barriers to people accessing support for their ADHD symptoms and work with individuals to overcome these.
