Job summary

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) to provide clinical leadership across our specialist palliative care services. This is a senior role for a highly skilled clinician with strong leadership and line management experience, working autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team.

Main duties of the job

You will provide expert clinical advice and support to hospice, hospital and community teams, supporting babies, children and young people with life limiting and life-threatening conditions, and their families. You will also support, mentor and develop ACPs, trainee ACPs, nurses and members of the wider care team, acting as a role model in advanced clinical practice and leadership.

  • Provide autonomous advanced clinical care within scope of practice

  • Contribute to education programmes for professionals and families

  • Recognised teaching qualification
  • Non-medical prescriber
  • Healthcare Leadership
  • Significant Post Registration palliative care experience
  • Demonstrative track record working with own client base, managing the assessment, treatment and discharge of patients as an autonomous practitioner
  • Experience of staff-student supervision.
  • Demonstrable ability to work in partnership with a range of other professionals including health, social care and education.
  • Experience of working with families with complex needs.
  • Evidence of involvement in clinical research
  • Experience of developing and implementing clinical guidelines and protocols to support service development.
