Main duties of the job
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cook to join our supportive Catering Team at Rainbows Hospice in Loughborough. This is a fulfilling opportunity to contribute to the wellbeing of our Babies, Children, Young People, their families, and staff by providing high-quality, thoughtfully prepared meals.
Location: Rainbows Hospice, Loughborough
Hours: 22.5 hours per week (Mon, Wed, Fri), with flexibility to cover weekends

Here at Rainbows Childrens Hospice, we provide specialist palliative care and end-of-life support to over 750 Babies, Children, and Young People living with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, as well as approximately 3,000 people, including families, siblings, and carers, across the East Midlands. Simply put, were here to brighten short lives and support families, wherever they are.

About the role
If you love creating homecooked meals and being part of a warm, collaborative kitchen team, this could be the perfect role for you.
Some of the key responsibilities include (but not limited to):
Preparing nutritious homemade meals, cakes, and snacks from scratch
Supporting special dietary needs in partnership with the Care Team and families
Keeping the kitchen clean, safe and well-organised
Maintaining food safety standards and kitchen hygiene
Contributing to a welcoming dining experience for our children, families and staff

Requirements
NVQ Level 2 in Food Preparation and Cooking
Basic Food Hygiene (Level 2) and Allergy Awareness
Experience cooking fresh meals from scratch
A caring attitude and a team spirit
