Job summary

We have an exciting new opportunity to join our therapies team as we expand our music therapy services throughout the community.

The Music Therapy Assistant will provide specialist music therapy sessions to babies, children, young people and their families by assessing, developing, and implementing programmes of sessions for individuals and groups within the service.

The role is Hybrid as we offer sessions both in Hospice and out in the community. There is therefore regular travel required. The role is part time, 22.5 hours per week, with flexibility around the working pattern.

Main duties of the job

The ideal candidate will have experience of working with Babies, Children and Young people in a healthcare setting, using music for therapeutic benefit. You will have knowledge and experience of using music creatively and adapting sessions to meet the needs of the individuals.

Experience of working with Babies, children and young people with complex needs is desirable.

  • Work with Rainbows Nurses in Hospitals to identify children and young people who require musical input whilst in hospital.
