Job summary

Community Dental Services CIC (CDS CIC) is a social enterprise driven by its overarching purpose - improving oral health in our communities. We provide a crucial range of predominantly NHS special care and paediatric dental services across the East of England and East Midlands, from a variety of settings. We also undertake oral health improvement and epidemiology surveys. We are owned entirely by our employees, the majority of which are dental care professionals.

Main duties of the job

You will have shared accountability with the Executive Team and Board, for the strategic direction, oversight and development of CDS CIC, ensuring the company's future as a sustainable social enterprise and employee-owned business. There will be a strategic collaboration working closely with the Clinical Director to ensure that there is a joint approach to delivering clinical excellence within the business context of delivering on contracts to agreed service specifications within budget.

The post holder will be responsible for providing CDS CIC Executive and Board level accountability and strategic leadership for all operational delivery and performance across CDS CIC; ensuring the delivery of high quality, cost effective services that are innovative and responsive to the needs of patients whilst meeting NHS and other contracted activity.

The role is based at our head office in Sharnbrook, Bedfordshire, with scope for hybrid working. As you will be expected to visit all CDS CIC locations on occasion, the ability to travel is essential.

Applicants will be educated to a Master's Degree level or equivalent level of experience in a management role and be able to demonstrate a wide range of clinical experience. You will have a successful track record at a management level in a comparable, regulated, public or private, complex organisation, leading high-performance, operational clinical services.
