Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an Employment Advisor to join our established team at NHS Warrington Talking Therapies. Step into a role where care and collaboration are at the heart of our work. Your role will be to support and empower your clients to improve their work situations and address the impact it may be having on their mental health.

Main duties of the job

Managing a complex active caseload of 40 to 50 people who have experienced mental health problems and who wish to gain, retain, or return to employment. 2 * Working with clinical teams and MHM staff to identify the best outcomes for clients. 3 * Focussing on the aspirations of the client to keep or obtain good employment, considering their strengths, difficulties, and barriers. 4 * Assessing a client's employment goals and any concerns regarding their capacity for work, their confidence to perform tasks and any factors that may be issues for employment. This is to be achieved by using evidence-based interventions supporting the individual to develop strategies to address them 5 * Advocating on behalf of the person with current and prospective employers if necessary, aiming to identify work solutions that will overcome or minimise difficulties within the workplace. 6 * Working with employers to raise their awareness of mental health issues including the effects poor mental health has on absenteeism, presentism and leaveism. 7 * Developing in-depth knowledge of the local labour market, local support and new initiatives, taking into account the needs of the client to broker effective interventions. Including specialist schemes to help with retaining or finding employment. 8 * Working closely with local agencies to identify appropriate job vacancies

You will be a part of our dynamic and innovative Employment Support team, working alongside clinicians to provide person-centred care and deliver exceptional outcomes for the people who access our service. Your role will be diverse and versatile. One day, you might review a CV, conduct a mock interview, and provide assertiveness training. The next day, you could be liaising with the Job Centre Plus, speaking with an employer, or engaging with the local community to build relationships and raise awareness. If you enjoy variety, believe in empowering others to achieve their own success and would like to be a part of something making a real difference to people's lives, then this role is for you. Ideal candidate: Is this you? Ideally the successful candidate will hold a relevant level 3 qualification in information, advice and guidance, employability or similar. You will also have relevant experience in an area that applies directly to employability and/or working with people in a mental health setting. Experience in similar roles, or a strong customer service background will also be considered. If you do not have an appropriate qualification, candidates will also be considered if you are able to demonstrate how your skills and experience are directly applicable to the role.
