Job summary

* To provide specialist psychological assessment for adults in primary care step 4 utilising a range of self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members and others involved in the client's care * To provide specialist psychological therapy for individuals and groups based upon an appropriate psychological conceptual framework of their difficulties and employing methods of proven efficacy.

Main duties of the job

* To provide specialist psychological assessment for adults in primary care step 4 utilising a range of self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members and others involved in the client's care * To provide specialist psychological therapy for individuals and groups based upon an appropriate psychological conceptual framework of their difficulties and employing methods of proven efficacy. * To evaluate and make autonomous decisions about intervention options, including discharge, ensuring such decisions appropriately involve others providing care. * To communicate in a skilled and sensitive manner, information concerning the assessment, formulation and intervention plans of clients and to monitor and evaluate progress during the course of both uni- and multi-disciplinary care. * To provide specialist psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to clients' care plans. * To undertake risk assessment and risk management for individual clients and to provide general advice to other professionals on psychological aspects of risk assessment and management.

Salary: £64,445 - £74,896 per annum, (NHS AFC Band 8b) Based: NHS Northumberland Talking Therapies, 4 Telford Court, Morpeth NE61 2DB (hybrid working between home and across sites) Hours: 37.5 Hours per week Contract Type: Permanent About us NHS Northumberland Talking Therapies is a partnership between Mental Health Matters (MHM) and Sunderland Counselling Service; two local and national providers of psychological therapies with a strong track record of success. About the role An exciting opportunity has arisen in NHS Northumberland Talking Therapies for a Clinical Lead to support the delivery of our clinical services. Our Talking Therapy team consists of a range of Psychological therapists working across steps 2, 3 and 4 delivering NICE evidenced talking therapies. Treatment is delivered by telephone, in groups, face to face and using digital therapy options. The role of Clinical Lead provides strategic clinical leadership of the service and is jointly responsible with the Service Manager in the planning, development and delivery of a high quality, responsive and accessible NHS Talking Therapies service. You will support the Deputy Clinical Lead, Step Leads and Senior Clinicians with clinical decisions and be the point of contact for the practitioners, identifying best practice and demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement . You will develop positive relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring that NHS Northumberland Talking Therapies remains a respected and valued partner within the changing mental health landscape. You will represent the service at local, regional and national level by building relationships with the ICB, partner agencies and clinical forums. This role is ideal for passionate and creative individuals who are excited by clinical service development, supporting staff and delivering gold standard care in an NHS Talking Therapies setting.

Qualifications

Essential

  • * Qualified as a High Intensity Therapist for a minimum of 1 year
  • OR
  • * Qualified as a CBT Therapist for a minimum of 1 year And
  • * Be accreditable with BABCP as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist

Experience

Essential

  • * Demonstrable in-depth knowledge of stepped care and NHS Talking Therapies, learnt through experience of working in an NHS Talking Therapies service.
  • * Experience of working with a variety of client groups, presenting with a range co-morbid depression and anxiety disorders
  • * Able to maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems.
  • * Experience of providing NICE and NHS Talking Therapies compliant clinical supervision.
  • * Experience of writing psychological assessment and discharge reports
