About the role As a Mental Health Recovery Worker, you will be required to provide a high quality, recovery focused support to individuals who have a range of mental health needs as well as other support needs including learning disabilities, physical health issues and substance misuse, whilst promoting independence and social inclusion. We are passionate about delivering recovery focused support to people who use our services. You will be competent in working alone and as part of a team. With experience of working within a community based, mental health setting, you should be able to inspire, engage and motivate people. With the proven ability to identify barriers, understand need and support people to achieve their goals the role will include one to one engagement, facilitating activities within the service and community, administrative tasks, sign posting and engaging people in other provision. You will work alongside Peer Support Workers (PSW) and professionals to achieve the best person-centered care, promote independence, and achieve personal outcomes. Either through, joint working with other services to support them to make reasonable adjustments or PSW so service users can learn and practice skills. About you You will have experience of working with Mental Health and will be able to inspire and engage people and have the ability to identify barriers and understand individual needs, while possessing excellent motivational skills. This will include one to one engagement and facilitating group-based activities, sign posting and engaging people in mainstream provision. You will have an understanding of working with people with a variety of complex needs including mental health, learning, physical and substance misuse would be an advantage for this post. Your knowledge of working within a community-based service is essential and will have equipped you with the relevant communication and interpersonal skills required for the role. Driving license desired but not essential. It is essential that you hold a NVQ Health and Social Care level 2 or level 3 and be willing to develop further as the role requires.
