Job summary
We have a vacancy for an Employment Recovery Worker within our Brighter Futures Employment Service, delivering a range of employment, recovery focused support to individuals across the County Durham area who have a mental health need.
Main duties of the job
Working closely with a range of referral agents, you will promote the service and establish/maintain strong working relationships with external agencies whilst maintaining your own caseload. With an excellent knowledge of local resources, providers and employers, your goal will be to maximise your client's potential and ultimately support them to secure and retain paid employment. With experience of working within a community based or employability focused service, you will support individuals in their recovery by helping them to achieve their social, training, volunteering and employment related goals. You will be able to identify barriers, understand need and have the ability to empower and motivate people whilst promoting their independence. The role will include one to one engagement, facilitating activities within the service and community, administrative tasks, signposting and engaging people in suitable provision. You will also support individuals to retain their employment and work with employers to educate them and promote good mental health in the workplace. With exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and experience of partnership and multi-agency working, you will have excellent knowledge of local resources, providers and employers and will work closely with a range of wider community support teams, internal colleagues and other agencies.
