Job Title: High Intensity Psychological Therapist Hours of work: 37.5 hours, applications for part time will be considered. Northumberland NHS Talking Therapies is a partnership between Mental Health Matters and Sunderland Counselling Service; two local and national providers of psychological therapies with a strong track record of success. About the role We are seeking a qualified and motivated High Intensity Psychological Therapist to join our team. The post holders will provide high intensity interventions - predominantly Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). They will work with clients who have a range of complex Anxiety and Depression related problems for which CBT is demonstrated to be clinically effective. We offer training opportunities in a secondary High Intensity modality (Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Couples Therapy for Depression). We also have 4 clinical CPD events planned for 2023/24. The post holders will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary, and should be committed to equal opportunities. About you You will hold a Clinical Qualification in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy; typically the Post-Graduate Diploma in CBT or in High Intensity Psychological Therapies. We also welcome applications from candidates who have other Post-Graduate qualifications in an NHS Talking therapies appropriate evidence based therapy. We welcome applications from trainees approaching formal qualification in any of the above. You must be able to demonstrate the ability to work within a high volume, performance managed service, manage your own caseload and time and be an effective communicator both in written and verbal communication. Qualifications

Essential

• Qualification from High Intensity NHS Talking Therapies Course (Post Graduate Diploma)
• OR Equivalent:
• e.g. A recorded/registered doctoral level qualification in clinical or counselling psychology/ a recorded/registered qualification in one of the following - nursing, social work, occupational therapy, arts therapy or a psychological therapy - plus further post graduate qualification training in a psychological therapy which may be CBT or another NHS Talking Therapies appropriate evidence based therapy (i.e. IPT) to at least equivalent of a post graduate diploma
• AND
• Significant experience working as a psychological therapy practitioner and demonstrating the competences as required.

Desirable

• Relevant experience in Primary Care treating anxiety and depression.
• Low Intensity PWP qualification/Graduate Mental Health Worker with experience of working within an NHS Talking Therapies service.

Experience

Essential

• Demonstrable experience of working in mental health services
• Experience of working in Primary Care Services.
• Ability to meet agreed/specified service targets
• Ability to manage own caseload and time
• Demonstrates high standards in written communication
• Able to write clear reports and letters to referrers
• Experience with routine outcome monitoring
• Experience of teaching and liaising with other professional groups

Desirable

• Worked in a service where agreed targets in place demonstrating clinical outcomes
• Experience of working with military veterans or people with sensory impairment.
