Salary: £32,306 to £39,027 per annum
Based: Unit 5, Stella Nova, Washington Parade, Bootle, Merseyside, L20 4TQ
Fixed term for training period, moving to permanent
contract on successful completion of the course
Our Talking Matters Sefton service delivers IAPT services to residents
of South Sefton and Southport & Formby, commissioned by the NHS. We are now
looking to recruit individuals with the same shared values and purpose, to join
our established team of practitioners.

We
are now looking to recruit two counsellors to join the team, delivering client
sessions whilst working towards a CfD qualification. You will attend university
part-time whilst working within the service, holding a client caseload,
delivering sessions both face to face and remotely. Clinical supervision is
provided along with peer support in a small but established counselling team.You will work alongside practitioners delivering other modalities eg. CBT,
EMDR, and be committed to work in an IAPT focused approach. Once you have
successfully completed your training, you will continue in the service as a qualified
CfD practitioner, being supported to deliver high quality interventions to our
clients.

About
you
You
will hold a minimum of a diploma in humanistic or person-centred counselling
and evidence of working towards BACP accreditation, or equivalent. You will
have at least two years post qualification experience delivering brief
counselling to individuals with common mental health problems, particularly
depression.

If successful, you must be able to join the organisation by December 5th 2022.
This is initially a training role. Post-qualification there is an expectation that you remain with the service for a minimum of two years.

Duties to include:
- Accept referrals via agreed protocols within the service
- Assess clients for suitability for CfD
- Make decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to the departments /relevant partners referral protocols, and refer unsuitable clients on to the relevant service or back to the referral agent as necessary.
- Formulate, implement and evaluate CfD treatment for clients presenting with depression.
- Educate and involve family members and others in treatment as necessary (with clients consent), conveying CfD processes with sensitivity in easily understood language.
- Adhere to an agreed activity contract relating to the number of client contacts offered, and clinical sessions carried out per week in order to minimise waiting times and ensure treatment delivery remains accessible and convenient.
- Attend multi-disciplinary meetings relating to referrals or clients in treatment, where appropriate.
- Complete all requirements relating to data collection within the service.
- Keep coherent records of all clinical activity in line with service protocols
- Work closely with other members of the team ensuring appropriate step-up and step-down arrangements are in place to maintain a stepped care approach.
- Assess and integrate issues surrounding work and employment into the overall therapy process
- Assist the service to evaluate performance by completing service user surveys and evaluations, and help to collate and disseminate the results for feedback as and when requested by the management team.
TRAINING AND SUPERVISION
- Attend and fulfil any requirements of the IAPT CfD training course
- Attend and fulfil any requirements of the IAPT approved supervision for CfD for Depression practitioners.
- If supervision trained, supervise CfD staff in the service as requested
- To commit to CPD by attending an IAPT approved CfD supervision course if and when required by the service
PROFESSIONAL
- Ensure the maintenance of standards of practice according to the employer and any regulating, professional and accrediting bodies (eg BPS, UKCP, BACP), and keep up to date on new recommendations/guidelines set by the department of health (e.g NHS plan, National Service Framework, National Institute for Clinical Excellence).
- Ensure that client confidentiality is protected at all times.
- Be aware of and keep up to date with advances in the spheres of CfD and other agreed psychological therapies.
- Ensure clear professional objectives are identified, discussed and reviewed with senior therapists on a regular basis as part of continuing professional development.
- Attend clinical/managerial supervision on a regular basis as agreed with Manager.
- Participate in individual performance review and respond to agreed objectives.
- Keep up to date all records in relation to C.P.D. and ensure personal development plan maintains up to date specialist knowledge of latest theoretical and service delivery models/developments.
- Attend relevant conferences / workshops in line with identified professional objectives.
