Job summary

Working as part of a team, you will work closely with mental health workers, partners and other agencies. You will have experience of working within employment support. You will demonstrate an ability to prioritize caseload and have an understanding of the principles of the Equalities Act and how it relates to Employment Rights. This post will operate throughout in the Oxfordshire area and flexibility to travel regularly across the county is an expectation of the role.

Job Title: Employment Advisor Hours: 37.5 hours per week Salary: £ 24,678 per annum Based: Oxfordshire Employment Service About us Mental Health Matters (MHM) is a national charity with over 35 years of experience in delivering high-quality mental health and social care services. We have a positive impact on the lives of people living with mental health needs in our local communities. We provide services across England, from Northumberland to Plymouth, led by a highly motivated and enthusiastic workforce who are committed to delivering the best quality services to those in need of support. About the role This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are dedicated to the principles of social inclusion, to work with adults with mental health needs. Working across Oxfordshire the post will work supporting people accessing primary care provision by using evidence-based interventions to retain their job, liaising with employers and assisting people in finding and keeping paid work. About you You will be educated to a minimum `A' Level Standard (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent), you will have awareness of/and or experience of working with people who have experienced mental health issues, particularly in accessing employment and will have the demonstrated skills and ability to help others identify and overcome barriers. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate a proactive and highly motivated attitude. This post will operate throughout in the Oxfordshire area and flexibility to travel regularly across the county is an expectation of the role.   • Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject (e.g. IAG, Coaching, Counselling, Employment Law, Social Care)

Desirable

  • Evidence of further study in vocational training, careers advice and job retention.
  • Multiple relevant qualifications.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of building and maintaining professional relationships.
  • Experience of effectively managing and prioritizing caseloads
  • Experience of providing vocational/employment support
  • Experience of working within a multi - disciplinary team
  • Proven experience of delivering in a results-based environment
  • Experience of working with people who have experienced mental health issues
