Moorings Devon - Barnstaple
This
is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are dedicated to the principles
of social inclusion, to work with adults with mental health needs. Based in our
service in Barnstaple, you will be part of a team supporting people who access our
crisis non referral service. The
service operates between 6pm and 11pm Thursday to Monday (including Bank Holidays)and provides
crisis de-escalation and reduce immediate distress, provide information and
support around crisis prevention for visitors and their families/carers
accessing the service; signposting into other relevant and appropriate
services, opportunities or agencies in the wider community.
Main duties of the job
Working
as part of a team, you will work closely with mental health workers, GPs,
Crisis Team, A&E, Police, partners and other agencies. You will demonstrate
an ability to prioritise work and will also be responsible for administrative
tasks.
You will be educated to a minimum A Level
Standard (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care), have awareness
of/lived experience and/or experience of working with people who have
experienced mental health issues, particularly in a crisis setting, and will
have the demonstrated skills and ability to help others identify and overcome
barriers. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be
able to demonstrate a proactive and highly motivated attitude.

Responsible to: Locality Manager
Reporting to: Qualified Practice Lead
Duties to include:
- To step up on request to practice lead role in a Practice leads absence
- To ensure that recovery goals identified using MHM Support Planning and outcome tools are met.
- To encourage service users to recognise, understand and manage factors that affect their mental wellbeing and physical health
- To increase choice and involvement of service users through access to peer support and through volunteering opportunities
- To empower individuals to identify and overcome obstacles to success in a achieving their self-determined goals engendering self-belief
- To record and feedback to clients about their progress and achievements and to identify further goals which help them achieve their aspirations
- To work with a range of partners and external agencies to ensure clients benefit from personalised and joined up support
- To work as a team member, sharing information and supporting colleagues, peer workers/volunteers ensuring they have the knowledge, information, and resources to be successful in their roles and make a positive and valued contribution to the service.
- Participate in the monitoring requirements of the service by providing statistical and qualitative information on activities, success stories and outcomes achieved
