Main duties of the job
TMN is a
partnership of 2 organisations; MHM and Sunderland Counselling Services.
We are seeking a
qualified and motivated Senior High
Intensity Psychological Therapist to join our team, in a brand new post.
The post holder
will support our Step 3 Lead in managing our qualified and trainee High
Intensity staff. Our team includes therapists qualified in CBT, IPT, DIT, Counselling
for Depression, EMDR and Couples Therapy for Depression. They will provide appropriate
clinical supervision and support the development of best practice at Step 3 and
within the wider service

promotes continuing professional development through modality specific training
opportunities. Our therapists are all members of special interest groups and
share their developing specialist interests with the wider team to promote
service development and growth. Regular clinical and case management supervision
is provided.

Job description
Job responsibilities
Duties to include:
- Provide appropriate clinical supervision to staff who
work at Step 3 of the service.
- Support the 3b Lead to review to trainees in relation
to University supervision logs.
- Ensure that clinical staff are receiving appropriate
clinical supervision which supports clinical and operational practice
- Identify appropriate training to ensure staff working
at Step 3 are able to maintain professional registrations. Work with the Step
3b Lead, Clinical Lead and Service Manager to identify training needs
within the service.
- Ensure the maintenance of standards of practice
according to the employer and any regulating, professional and accrediting
bodies e.g. BABCP, and keep up to date on new recommendations/guidelines
set by the governing bodies e.g. National Institute for Clinical
Excellence.
- Ensure that staff and client confidentiality is
protected at all times and that all staff are Information Governance
trained
- Be aware of, and keep up to date with advances in the
spheres of CBT and other psychological therapies.
- Ensure clear professional objectives are identified,
discussed and reviewed with therapists in the service
- Attend clinical/managerial supervision on a regular
basis as agreed with the Clinical Lead and Service Manager.
- Participate in individual performance review and
respond to agreed objectives.
- Keep up to date all records in relation to CPD and
ensure personal development plan maintains up to date specialist knowledge
of latest theoretical and service delivery models/developments.
- Attend relevant conferences / workshops in line with
identified professional objectives.
- Participate in service improvement by highlighting
issues and assisting to implementing changes.
- Support the 3b Lead in agreeing/declining all Step Up
decisions, in line with the stepped care model.
- Promote and maintain links with other staff within the
service to help co-ordinate the provision of an effective Psychological
Therapies Service.
- Liaise with Step 3b Lead, Service Manager and Clinical
Lead to ensure that communication and protocols between are robust and
that clients experience a seamless service
- Attend all management level meetings for the Step 3
Lead when they are not available.
- To support the Step 3b Lead in the development of best
practice at Step 3 and within the wider service, in line with MHM
practices and developments.
- To maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation,
national and local policies and procedures in relation to Step 3 of IAPT
provision.
- All employees have a duty and responsibility for their
own health and safety and the health of safety of colleagues, patients and
the general public.
- All employees have a responsibility and a legal
obligation to ensure that information processed for both patients and
staff is kept accurate, confidential, secure and in line with the Data
Protection Act (1998) and Security and Confidentiality Policies.

abuse their official position for personal gain, to seek advantage of
further private business or other interests in the course of their
