Job summary

Dudley’s new Sexual Health and Wellbeing service are seeking a Consultant in Sexual and Reproductive Health team to join our fantastic team in delivering free, confidential, and non-judgemental support for people of all ages. 

Brook has worked in Dudley for many years delivering young peoples services.  We are now the main provider of integrated sexual health services for people of all ages across the county. 

These are exciting times for sexual health, and we are looking for a Consultant to join our fantastic team.

  

Main duties of the job

Delivery of an open access Sexual & Reproductive Health clinic within Dudley providing medical care to Brook service users including complex genitourinary service provision, diagnosis and treatment, STI testing and treatment, referring clients with complex problems, and responding to telephone medical queries. 

To assess suitability for and prescribe hormonal contraceptives including emergency contraception. 

Clinical responsibility for the patients under your care, allowing for proper delegation to, and training of, your staff as part of a multidisciplinary team. 

To take part in teaching during normal clinical work and provide sexual health advice to the nursing team. 

To participate in clinical governance activity including clinical audits, clinical guideline and protocol development, clinical risk management,  

Provision of remote support to clinical staff working across Brook as part of an escalation rota.
