Hope House Children’s Hospice and Shropshire Community Children’s Nursing Team has an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced children’s Clinical Nurse Specialist to work across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin (ICS), developing, leading and coordinating a seamless and integrated children’s palliative care service.

If you are an effective leader with outstanding communication and people skills; have the ability to utilise your extensive knowledge and expertise in the care and management of a caseload of children with palliative care needs and possess excellent decision making and organisation skills then we would like to talk more to you about this role.

Person Specification

Qualifications and Skills

Essential

• <p>NMC Registered Children’s Nurse, NMC Independent Nurse Prescriber, Palliative Care (Masters) or a degree with evidence of further specialist training to masters equivalent level</p> <p>Demonstrable clinical leadership skills, Advanced clinical skills (symptom management) including independent nurse prescribing within Palliative Care, Evidence of teaching and assessing the knowledge and skills of others/Supervision of others., To be highly organised and can rapidly prioritise, Experience in working effectively in pressurised situations, Advanced communication, negotiation, decision making and organisational skills, both verbally and in writing, Ability to communicate complex and distressing information to children and young people and their parent/carers in a sensitive and supportive way at a level they can understand, The ability to produce protocols and procedures, Proficient in the use of IT packages.</p>
