Job summary

Hope House Children’s Hospices have an opportunity for a Community Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team. This is a collaborative role where you will be based at Coral House in Shrewsbury and within Hope House Children’s Hospice in Oswestry. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working flexibly between 8am and 6pm in line with the Community Children’s Nursing Teams operational hours, which will include 2 x 12.5 hour clinical shifts at Hope House, per roster. In return, our Community Clinical Nurse Specialist will receive a competitive salary, depending on your skills, qualifications and experience there are two entry points:

£38,403 to £45,649 per annum - developmental role requiring full training with post holder being supported to complete the Independent Nurse Prescriber (INP) and Clinical Assessment Module.

£45,649 to £49,159 per annum - post holder that has completed INP and Palliative Care (Masters) or a degree with evidence of further specialist training to master’s equivalent level.

About the Community Clinical Nurse Specialist role:

Hope House Children’s Hospice and Shropshire Community Children’s Nursing Team have an exciting opportunity for a children’s Community Clinical Nurse Specialist to work across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, developing, leading and coordinating an integrated children’s palliative care service.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced registered Children’s Nurse who wishes to and would be supported to develop to a Community Clinical Nurse Specialist or this opportunity would suit an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist who wishes to utilise your extensive knowledge and expertise in a specialist area.

If you have outstanding communication and people skills; have the clinical skills and leadership skills in the care and management of a caseload of children with palliative care needs, possess excellent decision making and organisation skills then this role would be perfect for you.

Here at Hope House Children’s Hospices Our Mission is to ensure no one faces the death of a child alone. We support more than 750 local families who are either caring for a terminally ill child, or whose child has died. Hope House Children’s Hospices is a centre of excellence for children’s palliative care ensuring every family facing the death of a child gets the very best care and support when and where they need it. We have a hospice in Oswestry, which is a bright and homely building that has a total of eight children's bedrooms and separate rooms for up to five families to accompany them. We're pleased to be collaboratively working with the Shropshire Children's Community Nursing Team to carry out our work across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, developing, leading and coordinating an integrated children's palliaitive care service.
