Job summary

The Retreat York are recruiting a Senior Clinical Psychologist to join our highly skilled multi-disciplinary Childrens neurodevelopmental team.

We have a range of opportunities for those wishing to further their careers within Neurodevelopmental conditions. We provide services for adults, children and young people. Applicants may specialise in one area or across all age groups. We are a dynamic, forward thinking organisation looking for clinicians that can bring a high level of experience working with neurodiverse people. You will deliver diagnostic assessments (mainly ASD) and offer psychological therapy

Our main offices are in York, preference is for on-site working but consideration will be given to applicants who wish to work remotely with occasional travel to our York site

Main duties of the job

The candidate will form part of the multi-disciplinary team involved in the diagnostic process for autism, completing the standardised assessments involved in this process. They will offer post-diagnostic support for individuals with autism and hold a caseload providing occupational therapy assessment and interventions. We are seeking someone who has excellent communication skills and understands the specific communication needs of neurodiverse individuals and adopts an approach that helps to facilitate positive therapeutic relationships. The candidate will have good team working skills and experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team. They should understand the sensory processing differences of neurodiverse individuals and appropriate assessments and interventions that can be used. The post will also include developing links with other organisations in the local community who also offer support to neurodiverse individuals.
