Speech and Language Therapist CYP Neurodevelopmental Services

Job summary

The Retreat York are seeking an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join the Children and Young People Neurodevelopmental Service. The post holder will work with an exceptional team including Clinical Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Specialist Administrators and Assistant Psychologists. The multidisciplinary team deliver NHS funded autism assessment services, both online and from our dedicated Retreat Children & Young Peoples facility in Strensall. The post holder will work into the diagnostic pathway as well as providing specialist Speech and Language Therapy to children and young people that have a diagnosis of ASD and/or other neurodevelopmental conditions.

Experience with assessment of ASD is desirable, and the Retreat will support additional training.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist with experience of working with Children & Young People that have neurodevelopmental conditions, including ASD. Ideally you will already be trained in using the ADOS-2 and have carried out assessments as part of a team in the past. However, if you mainly have therapeutic experience, we encourage you to apply, as we can discuss training opportunities.

We are looking for a clinician who is enthusiastic about working with neurodiverse children and teens, and feels passionate about developing therapeutic interventions that allow neurodiverse people to flourish.
