An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic team player with exceptional people skills to join our team of dedicated Clinical Secretaries to support the Community Nursing and In Patient Unit teams over 7 days. The role will be responsible for ensuring the efficient, responsive, proactive, and reliable administrative support to all services, but specifically focused on the IPU Team supporting Admission, Discharge and effective coordination of care. You will also be responsible for providing cover for the community secretaries as required and supporting the Woodview reception volunteers.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an experienced Secretary to provide secretarial and administrative support to the Hospice medical and clinical teams ensuring the provision of an efficient and reliable service.

The role will involve dealing with important and sensitive information in a confidential way interacting with members of the public in a compassionate and tactful way and the accurate use of computerised patient record systems. Attention to detail is essential.

The successful candidate will be educated to GCSE Level C or equivalent, including English; NVQ level 3, RSA 3 or equivalent and ECDL or equivalent. You will have knowledge of medical terminology and experience of secretarial work in a healthcare setting with minimum 2 years experience working as a secretary.

You will have strong people skills with the confidence to communicate with patients, family members and professionals face to face and over the telephone, possess excellent organisation skills with the ability to work effectively in emotionally demanding situations.

The role is part time, working 22.5 hours per week (Monday to Sunday) 8.30am - 4.30pm, with salary of £15,907 - £17,059 per annum (pro rata of £26,158 - £28,052 pa).
