Dougie
Mac are currently looking to recruit a Complementary Therapist for our
developing Adult Hospice Complementary Therapy Service. The successful candidate will share our
passion in providing excellent, holistic and person-centred care to our
patients and carers.

therapy that ensures outstanding, safe & effective care delivery.
Main duties of the job
To
work as an integral part of the developing Complementary Therapy Team,
providing therapies to our patients,
relatives and carers within our Hospice and community.
The successful candidate
will be a qualified therapist in at least Aromatherapy and Reflexology, Level
3, and be a member of a Professional Governing Body.

Job Summary:
Our experienced Complementary Therapist provide therapies to our patients, relatives and carers within our Hospice and community. Our Complementary Therapists are qualified therapist in at least Aromatherapy and Reflexology, Level 3, and be a member of a Professional Governing Body.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Communicating and working closely with the Therapies Team and wider Hospice MDT
- Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individual programmes of therapy within professional framework, liaising with the multi- disciplinary team and other therapists as appropriate.
- Using time and resources effectively and efficiently
- Provide hands-on complementary therapy to patients and carers within the In-patient Unit, Wellbeing Centre, Outpatients and Community
- Contribute to the development and implementation of effective mechanisms for communicating information concerning patient care including the completion of accurate and comprehensive records on the Hospice Patient Database
- Prioritise and co-ordinate your workload according to the needs of patients/carers
- Ensure the welfare and safety of patients and carers whilst receiving therapies.
- Comply with the requirements of Professional Code of Conduct and Practice
- Contribute to and work in line with the values and ethos of the hospice
- Contribute towards storing, ordering, and managing stock
- To assist in the planning and implementing of group work with patients and carers
- To assist in the development of and support for the complementary therapy volunteer
- Keep abreast of relevant developments within complementary therapy, palliative and cancer care and to understand the implications of these for practice
- Undertake & attend organisational mandatory training as required relevant to your role
- Educate the MDT on the availability and implication of complementary therapies to enable team members to make referrals
- Maintain own professional development to facilitate the provision of evidence-based practice
