We have a fantastic new opportunity for a Senior IT Support Engineer to join our IT Team.

Working within a team of 5 you will provide you will help to keep our systems running, working between two main Hospice sites and a number of retail outlets across Stoke-on-Trent.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a Senior IT Support Engineer who will provide Hospice wide 3rd line type support to our users and to manage the internal Hospice IT systems. They should be a responsive, highly productive individual who can work alongside other members of the team as well as our users and suppliers to ensure the continued operations of the Hospice IT department. This is a hands on role covering multiple sites.

Have you?

Excellent working knowledge of Windows, CISCO technology and VMWare?

Knowledge/experience of PCIDSS compliance?

5 years experience in an IT role?

Degree level or relevant professional qualifications?

The ability to explain technical matters to non-technical people?

Can you?

Maintain & monitor networking, security & IT systems?

Provide 3rd line support to our Hospice staff?

Produce high level reports on a range of systems?

Work with consultants & service providers to deliver and maintain IT services?

Drive and have a flexible approach to work?

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Responsibility for the resolution of IT and Communications systems Helpdesk issues in a timely manner.

2. Network management of the Hospices computer network in conjunction with the IT Manager.

3. Management and development of the Hospice VMware server and storage systems.

4. Management and development of the Hospice Dell Avamar and Data Domain devices.

5. Assisting the IT Manager in the development and implementation of the Hospices Communications and Security systems.

6. Deputise in the absence of the Head of IT

7. Rolling out of new hardware systems.

8. Rolling out of new software systems.

9. Managing upgrades to hardware and software systems.

10. Ensure all onsite support agreements are current and valid for both software and hardware systems.

11. Provide end user training and training materials on specific applications.

12. Assist in the sourcing of hardware, software and other related products.

13. Develop relationships with suppliers, and 3rd party support companies.

14. Be Hands On in the department with all aspects of the IT department function.

15. Work flexibly to suit the needs of the team and the Hospice.

16. Identify personal development needs and the means by which these may be achieved.
