Job summary
We are looking for staff for 27 hours / 36 hours contracts on nights.
Dougie Mac are currently looking to
recruit staff nurses for our night team who share our passion in providing
excellent, personalised and compassionate care to patients and their families
within our recently refurbished In-Patient unit.

different services provide patients, their families and carers, with physical,
emotional, social, psychological and spiritual support, at home, or here at the
Hospice.
Main duties of the job
The right candidate will possess
excellent communication and organisational skills, a motivation for continual
learning and sharing of knowledge, with the drive to ensure our patients
receive the highest possible standard of care. You will work as part of a
supportive multidisciplinary team within the In-Patient Unit, where
opportunities exist to develop palliative care expertise and undertake funded
degree or masters level study after 6 months.
This role will be full time/part time on

multi- professional team in providing a high standard of specialist palliative
care to patients and their families, you will play a key role in the
assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care.
Duties

Clinical
Participate in
the provision of the highest possible standard of physical, psychological,
social and spiritual nursing care of patients, their relatives and friends
To assess, develop,
implement and evaluate programmes of care reporting changes to the senior
nurse.
To provide and
maintain a high standard of skilled nursing care.
To work within
the agreed nursing procedures.
Promote and
maintain accurate patient records in accordance with Douglas Macmillan Hospice
policy, national guidance and requirements.
To participate in
health promotion and the prevention of illness.
The post holder
will at all times be personally accountable for professional and ethical
actions, ensuring compliance with the NMC Code of Conduct; failure to do so
will be viewed as a disciplinary matter.
Management
To take charge
the nursing team to which you are assigned, in the absence of the senior staff
nurse.
To take charge of
the Inpatient services in the absence of the Head of Inpatient Services and
Sister/ Senior staff nurse.
To supervise and
organise work as appropriate.
To ensure the
hospice policies and procedures are implemented by all staff on the IPS.
To promote
effective communication with other members of the multidisciplinary team to
ensure total patient care is delivered on the IPS.
