Dougie Mac are currently looking to recruit
an Education & Development Lead for the children & young adult
service. The successful candidate will
share our passion in providing excellent, personalised and compassionate care
to children & young people, and their families.

effective workforce for The Dougie Mac Children & Young Adult Service.
To support the development of the future workforce
& the sustainability of skilled practitioners to meet the needs of children
with palliative care needs.
To increase the profile and raise
awareness of children's palliative care in the external workforce & wider
community.

effective delivery of care and recognises the holistic needs and health care
experience of the child, young person & family. The right candidate will

- - Minimum of 4 years post qualification experience, with at least 2 at a Band 6 or above
- - Significant post registration clinical nursing experience of delivering care to children, including those with complex care needs, and families in a variety of health care settings.
- - Evidence of working within a professional multi-disciplinary team.
- - Knowledge and understanding of specialist childrens palliative care underpinned by theory and experience.
- - Knowledge and understanding of services and recent initiatives in childrens health and social care.
- - Evidence of effective training, teaching, facilitation, assessment, and presentation skills
- - Evidence of leadership experience in clinical/education practice
- - Knowledge of requirements for supervision & assessment of students & experience of supporting students in practice
Desirable
- - 2 years experience at Band 6 equivalent or above in a teaching/ education role
- - Evidence of degree/ masters level study in childrens palliative care
- - Evidence of involvement in clinical research
- - Experience of working with technology dependent children.

- - Willingness to work towards relevant accredited teaching qualification.
