Dougie Mac are delighted to share
details of our new Volunteer Services Coordinator role following a full review
of our Voluntary Services Team and Dougie Mac. The pandemic meant we had to
pause a number of our volunteer roles but we are now welcoming volunteers back
to both our sites and our shops. We are also taking the opportunity to examine
and refresh each role to ensure it continues to align with department needs,
adds real value and helps us to deliver the Hospice strategy. The Voluntary
Services team provide a supportive environment for our highly valued
volunteers.
Main duties of the job
The Voluntary Services team provide a
supportive environment for our highly valued volunteers. As a key contact
within this team, you will thrive on the challenge of supporting us to create
new volunteer roles that are attractive to a more diverse range of individuals
in order to better engage with our local community and that will also benefit
the Hospice. We are keen to continue our success in attracting volunteers for
both the long and short term looking for a way to give something back to the
local community or gaining a new experience utilising their professional
experience or trying something completely new!
You will be a key member of the team to
help us get these initiatives off the ground and so we are seeking candidates
who have great communication and people skills, a can do attitude, especially
in terms of supporting colleagues with the provision of volunteers and who is
open to new ideas. Good IT skills are essential in this role and you must be confident using social media platforms and a
CRM or volunteer management database. You will have some experience or insight
into volunteering and the differences between volunteers and paid staff.

- - Educated to minimum of A level or equivalent
- - Evidence of further education/training to NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a relevant subject area.
- - High standard written and spoken English
- - High standard of numeracy skills

- - Training, learning or development or equivalent qualification

- - Experienced in undertaking office administration utilising a PC and associated software
- - Substantial previous experience of administration within a busy professional office environment
