Job summary

We are seeking Primary Care Pharmacy Technician registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council to join our growing multi-disciplinary teams at Our Health Partnership, working within South Birmingham Alliance Primary Care Network (SBA PCN).

The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic and forward-thinking pharmacy team employed by Our Health Partnership. Professional Leadership will be provided by the Consultant Pharmacist at OHP along with the PCN Lead Pharmacist and their team of clinical pharmacists.

Please note whilst our Head Office is based in Cotteridge, this role will be required to work within practices in the PCN area.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is a pharmacy technician registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council. They are required to act within their professional boundaries, supporting and working alongside a multi-disciplinary team within general practice and a Primary Care Network (PCN).

The post holder will contribute to improving prescribing practice, patient care and deliver the Directed Enhanced Service PCN prescribing agenda. This includes improving repeat prescribing processes in General Practices within the PCN, promoting digitalisation, reducing medicines waste and minimising clinical risk associated with medicines taking.

The post holder will help patients to get the best from their medicines, operating within clear protocols and guidance. They will be responsible for encouraging the development of better understanding of the principles of medicines optimisation throughout the practice and PCN teams and promoting good practice in line with therapeutic developments.

The post holder will work with all sectors of pharmacy across the health system and the wider OHP organisation to improve population health. Demonstrating improvement in patient outcomes and working to reduce health inequalities across the PCN contributing to improving the efficiency of general practice and delivering a best in class service.

About us

Our Health Partnership was set up by local GPs who are passionate about providing high quality primary care and using their time and skills effectively to benefit patients.

We are currently a GP partnership of 34 practices with 43 surgeries. 176 GP partners and circa 80 salaried GPs in Our Health Partnership serving around 300,000 patients in Birmingham, Sutton Coldfield, Wolverhampton, Solihull and Shropshire.

The partnership offers a shared administrative and management structure, cutting down the time doctors have to spend on admin. It opens up economies of scale to get best value from budgets. It has the resources to develop innovative services and effective partnerships with local hospitals and care services. And it can access new funding streams that are only available to large GP organisations.
