Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen, due to a
restructure, for an experienced and committed Head of Patient and Family,
Support & Wellbeing Services at St Andrews Hospice Grimsby.
As a key inspirational
member of the hospice leadership team and reporting to the Director of Clinical
Services, the successful candidate will be
responsible for leading the development and delivery of Patient and Family,
Support & Wellbeing Services which comprises of our Wellbeing outpatient
services, specialist Lymphoedema service, Therapeutic Activities, Complementary
Therapies, Social Work, Spiritual Care and Bereavement Services. The successful
candidate will bring innovative ideas to support the development of more outpatient service including nurse-led
clinics, whilst ensuring the highest quality of care is delivered.
You will be either a qualified Health or Social
Care Practitioner I.e. Registered Nurse, Physiotherapist,
Occupational Therapist or Social Worker, and be registered with the appropriate
professional body.
Main duties of the job
To have overall operational and line management
responsibility for the Patient and Family, Support and Wellbeing Services which
consists of the following departments: Wellbeing team, Complementary Therapies,
Therapeutic Activities, Lymphoedema, Social Work, Spiritual Care and
Bereavement.
To be a key member of the operational
management team, contributing to the forward planning and development of the
hospice, in particular the patient and family services.
To
ensure the highest quality of care is delivered to patients, their families and
significant others through a Holistic approach, providing measurable outcomes
and the evidence to support these.
To significantly contribute to the shaping and development of all the
Patient and Family services including the development of therapeutic
interventions and outpatient clinics e.g. Blood Transfusions, Heart Failure.
To
support Hospice User Engagement utilising a wide range of methods to obtain
feedback and encourage involvement in the development of hospice services.
To contribute to a co-ordinated and efficient service,
having an understanding of all departments, reflecting the aims and philosophy
of Hospice care, communicating with staff, volunteers and managers and Chief
Executive as required.
