About us
Training Hubs are education and training coordinators for primary care. They support recruitment of staff and enable staff to develop to their full potential and work to the top of their licences. There is a training hub in all of the Boroughs in London and they work closely with their Primary Care Networks ( Groups of GP Practices that works together called PCNs) and individual practices to achieve these goals.
The common aim of the collaboration between Training Hubs and PCNs is to create networks centred upon population health, local decision making and integration for workforce planning through education and training. Furthermore, they aim to empower community organisations to work to assess workforce training needs, expand capacity and capability and innovation and foster multi-professional training and education environments for the current and future workforce.
The Functions of the Training Hub
- Supporting workforce planning
- Responding to local workforce need;
- Coordinating educational programmes;
- Ensuring educational quality;
- Developing a faculty of trainers;
- Supporting development of the existing workforce and fostering innovation
Nurses working in a practice will have an increasing role across a network of practices so it is likely that this training role will involve working in more than one practice.
