Kingston GP Chambers are delighted to be supporting Langley Medical Practice, who are a friendly, supportive and thriving practice looking for a salaried GP (6 sessions Weds - Fri). They have an excellent team of GPs, practice nurses and health care assistants.
Langley are part of a Primary Care Network (PCN) with two other practices who share space in the Health Centre. This provides excellent access to allied health care practitioners including FCPs, Pharmacists, GP assistants, Social Prescribers, and Mental Health Support Workers. The PCN also contributes staffing for extended hours services, providing an opportunity to potentially increase working hours.
The practice serves c9000 patients from Surbiton Health Centre, in modern purpose built premises, and is five minutes from Surbiton station.
They are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic GP. The right candidate will need to demonstrate the key skills required whilst working within a multidisciplinary team. Experience with EMIS Web, Docman and Accurx operating system would be helpful.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work flexibly when required are essential. A special interest area is preferable.

Clinical responsibilities:
- In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations and emergencies, telephone consultations and queries, triaging, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, patient test results, patient medical reports and examinations (e.g. Insurance Companies) on behalf of the Practice, referral letters NHS/private, paperwork and correspondence in a timely manner.
- Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation
- Recording clear and contemporaneous I.T. based consultation notes to agreed standards
- Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible)
- Prescribing in accordance with locally agreed or national guidelines and within practice agreed formulary.
- To manage care plan list, writing and reviewing care plans and patients in accordance with current End of Life Care provision
- Duty doctor PM triage appointments and medically urgent appointments should be used as part of the surgery as clinically indicated.

Kingston GP Chambers is a Federation of all NHS General Practices within the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames. It was founded in 2008 as a limited company whose shareholders are all 20 GP Practices within Kingston. The company is led by a Board of Directors who are also GP Partners in their own Practices within Kingston.
Kingston GP Chambers has worked collaboratively with both secondary care and the private sector. At present we provide community clinics for Dermatology, Urology, Neurology, Dementia and Diabetes.
In addition, Kingston GP Chambers are at the forefront of improving patient access to primary care. We deliver a comprehensive extended hours service offering GP appointments across three hubs in the evenings Monday to Friday, over the weekend and on Bank Holidays.Kingston GP Chambers has the ability to respond rapidly, and we have continued to demonstrate the capability to provide high-quality, innovative and timely solutions to improving patient care and experience. We work closely alongside the other GP Federations in Southwest London to continue the government's five-year forward plan and deliver patient services in the community. We aim to continue to grow as we are increasingly recognised as the provider of choice for extended, enhanced and urgent GP services. We also expect an increasing role as we support, reinforce and develop the position of general practice as the core building block for an increasing range of jointly-provided services.

Hours: Six sessions per week Wednesday to Friday plus equitable shares of home
visits and on-call duties. A session is 4 hours
10 mins . Duty doctor cover is required every Thursday. As duty doctor you will be expected to be
present from 8am until 6.30pm.
Main purpose of the role: To support the GP partners, to manage a busy and
interesting clinical caseload. The GP will also have the opportunity to take
part in leading on key disease areas (monitoring trends in treatment, staff
training and prescribing) and assist in developing appropriate healthcare
services for a diverse patient list in a PMS practice.
