Main duties of the job

We have a new and exciting role at the NIA managing the system engagement efforts on behalf our Fellows and the solutions they offer.

On average, each cohort contains 10-15 Fellows, all tackling the key pillars in the NHS. You will work closely with the NIA team, the Fellows, our partners, and teams across all Health Innovation networks and Integrated Care Systems to deliver impact to improve care for patients via the solutions offered. This role is pivotal to aid the spread and adoption of the innovations of our Fellows. This can only work with the right relationships with our partners, the HINs but also the ICSs (Integrated Care Systems).

Largely based around the evidence and a 3 month assessment period of the Fellows and their innovations, the ask is to be the key advocate for solutions that are ready to be scaled regionally and well as nationally in the whole of NHSE.

You will manage the delivery and relationship building through your creativity, operational effectiveness and experience of innovation adoption in complex environments. You are results driven and clearly focused on patient and system impact.

The role is an outstanding opportunity to have real impact on health and healthcare in supporting the NHS and the Fellows with rapid adoption and scale.

About us

NHS Innovation Accelerator

The NHS Innovation Accelerator (NIA) is an award-winning national NHS England (NHSE) initiative delivered in partnership with Englands 15 Health Innovation Networks (HINs) and the Accelerated Access Collaborative (AAC). Hosted at UCLPartners, the programme supports committed individuals (Fellows) to scale high impact, evidence-based innovations across the NHS and wider healthcare system. The programme is chaired by Professor Stephen Powis, National Medical Director for NHS England, and fully supported across senior NHSE leadership. The NIA launched in 2015 to support the strategic deliverables of NHSE, and has since delivered value to over 80 Fellows, generating over £200 million in investments and scaling 85 innovations. The NIA is on a change journey whereby the teams together with the ASHN networks as well as NHSE are aiming to extend the market leading footprint of the program, nationally and internationally. Key to this is impact in the NHS, from the innovations that have been accepted into the fellowship to the patients and systems who need them.
