Job summary
We are looking to recruit an additional Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our specialist Palliative care team at City Hospice.
Working in the Cardiff community you will be required to have experience of oncology and/or working with terminal non-cancer patients and/or palliative care.
You will be required to provide specialist complex, physical emotional and psychological support to the patient with regard to their care and manage a full caseload.
We are looking for a dedicated individual to work in an extremely busy team and someone who is proactive and are able to apply specialist knowledge across a range of procedures that are underpinned by theory, evidence based practice and continued professional development.
An individual who works professionally with their colleagues, is able to respond to unpredictable situations and takes responsibility for self management and a caseload.
Main duties of the job
You will be required to cover a specific area within Cardiff and manage a caseload but must also be willing to cover other colleague's caseload when required.
Extensive
post Registration and Palliative Care experience in Cancer or non Cancer
patients is essential together with a qualification at Degree level. Ability to work autonomously and part of a Multi Disciplinary team is required with excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
You will be required to work closely with health care professionals and other palliative care teams within hospitals, the community and other hospices. Strong communication skills and the ability to ensure accurate and up to date records are maintained and reviewed.
Evidence of recent learning and continued professional development.
You will be required to have your own transport to travel within the community.
About us
You will be joining a team of 13 nurses as well as a Lead Nurse and the clinical team is led by two consultants. We also have an Occupational Therapist, Social Worker and Welfare Rights Worker within the clinical team.
As a Charity, City Hospice has to fundraise each year and we have many events that staff can also take part in and also have fun at the same time!
