We are seeking a talented & compassionate caterer to join our established team of Chefs, Catering Assistants & volunteers to deliver a high-quality, cost-effective in-house catering service.Using your skills to create fresh, well balanced, home cooked meals for our patients & staff, you will lead your shift in ensuring dietary requirements & special requests are met with care & precision.

Essential

  • Good organisational skills
  • Ability to plan, prepare & deliver hospitality for events
  • Previous cooking experience and expertise.
  • Awareness and understanding of nutrition
  • Knowledge & experience of working to H&SAW, COSHH standards
  • Customer service awareness
  • Strong people skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Good motivational skills with the ability to engage and empathise.
  • The ability to write and produce clear and effective correspondence.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and as part of a team.
  • High standard of personal presentation of work.
  • Ability to operate in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Attention to detail and a strong motivation to maintain high standards.
  • Basic PC Skills.
  • Ability to cook with fresh ingredients to create delicious home cooked meals for a variety of diets
  • Strong knowledge & commitment to food safety, kitchen safety & allergens control.
  • Knowledge & creativity in menu development

Desirable

  • Previous experience of working with volunteers
  • Experience of coaching/training other staff/volunteers
  • Passion for creativity in recipe & menu development
  • Confidence to engage with patients, hospice visitors & the general public.
  • Experience of supporting with customers service of hot & cold buffets barbeques & events.

  • Food Hygiene qualification of at least Level 2
