Become part of The Myton Team and help us to make a difference...
At The Myton Hospices, we provide specialist care and support for people with life-limiting illnesses, and their loved ones, from the point of diagnosis to end of life. We are a much-loved and well supported charity, at the heart of our community. We have three hospices, a range of community services, and 25 charity shops in Coventry and Warwickshire.
About the role
We have over 850 amazing volunteers and without them our work wouldn't be possible.
We are exploring ways in which we can provide practical support and companionship to people living with or caring for someone with a life-limiting illness in their own home. We are looking for someone with a passion for volunteering to support our Associate Director of Service Development and Improvement to design, develop and implement our new Myton community-based service.
You will be based at either our Coventry or Warwick Hospice with the opportunity to work from home on occasion. You will be travelling across Coventry and Warwickshire including to community locations.
This role is available as either a part time or full time role and the hours will usually be within office hours from Monday to Friday (+ occasional weekends or bank holidays).
Main duties of the job
As a Project Volunteer Coordinator you will work to develop a team of community support volunteers and will be responsible for their recruitment, induction, training and ongoing support and management.
We would love to hear from you if you have:
- Experience of recruiting, supporting and working with volunteers
- Working knowledge of volunteering best practice
- Strong planning and operational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- A passion to make a difference
- Ability to travel regularly across Coventry and Warwickshire
Although not essential, experience of working or volunteering in a health or social care setting would be useful.
We will conduct a standard DBS check.
We are committed to building an inclusive workplace and encourage everyone to bring their true selves to work. However you identify, and whatever background you bring with you, we welcome you to apply. If there are any adjustments that would help improve your experience with Myton, we encourage you to share this with us.
We particularly welcome applications from people with disabilities and from ethnic minorities, who are currently under-represented in our hospices. We also believe our interview process should be inclusive and transparent. If there is anything missing, or a way we can improve, please do let us know.
If you would prefer a paper application form, or if you have questions, including about support or adjustments, please get in touch with us on 01926 838 849 or recruitment@mytonhospice.org
