We are recruiting to the post of Ward Sister/Team leader. We are looking for someone who is able to work clinically, managing a team of staff and patients to provide outstanding evidenced based care.
Working with senior staff, you will role model the St Gemmas values and behaviour framework.
Main duties of the job
As a Sister/Team Leader, you will be expected to:
Take responsibility as Nurse in Charge on shift, and lead the ward in the absence of the Senior Sister
Role model excellence in clinical care
Manage and develop a team of staff
Identify and lead change
Demonstrate management and leadership skills.

- Registered Nurse current registration with NMC, Advanced communication skills
- Teaching and assessing qualification.
- Evidence of commitment to innovative Continued Professional Development
- Leadership/management training
Desirable
- Evidence of Masters level study
- Non-Medical Prescriber (or willing to work towards)
- Leadership/management training
Experience
Essential
- Experience of line management/supervision
- Proven ability to lead and deliver change
- Teaching to a range of professionals
- Demonstrable experience in palliative/end of life care
Desirable
- Implementing and using clinical governance systems, e.g. clinical effectiveness, risk management, performance management.
- Managing a ward/clinical environment
