Job summary
As a skilled heath care
professional, the post holder will deal with a wide range of health needs in a
primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care. They will act within professional boundaries, working
autonomously without immediate support and supervision, enabled by
collaborative and supportive working relationships.
The post holder will deliver
safe, effective clinical decision-making and expert quality care, including
assessment, diagnosis, clinical management and evaluation. As the clinician
you will be working on SystmOne and Adastra clinical systems.
Main duties of the job
You
will need to hold the relevant professional registration (GMC) and have
experience of Triage / Telephone Assessment, as well as
minimum 1 years experience of working within a Primary Care environment. Experience of working in Emergency
Department / Urgent Treatment Centre would be advantageous should you wish to
work within this service, but not essential for our other services.

Main Duties:
- Undertake a variety of duties including face to face consultations and telephone consultations.
Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems and formulate evidence-based management plans
Provide health promotion and preventative health care advice to patients attending the service
Compile and issue computer-generated electronic prescriptions
Prescribe generically whenever appropriately and in accordance with NICE guidance and Good Prescribing Practice (as defined by British National Formulary guidance)
Adhere to all medicines management governance and ensure correct procedure is followed with regard to medicines policies and prescribing
Clearly and accurately document consultations, including safety netting advice, in a timely manner
Work collaboratively with other health and social care professionals and services to deliver care to meet patients clinical, social and transport need
- Cover the clinical management of patients as appropriate including initiating investigations, reviewing results, making referrals to secondary care or to other providers as appropriate.
- Promote the application of standards and codes of Practice set by the Royal College of General Practice, General Medical Council, Department of Health and local NHS trust.
- In general you will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
