About us
There are a total of 12 Deep End practices in Middlesbrough the highest proportion of Deep End practices across the whole of the NENC ICB area for any locality.
Eleven of the Deep End practices have agreed to collaborate and work together to deliver a more strategic and sustainable project addressing a key social determinant of health that all practices identify as a shared priority. The practices intend to pool the resources to deliver a single project improving the support and care for vulnerable adults and children with safeguarding risks and concerns.
Between 2021-2024, Middlesbrough had the highest rate of children on a child protection plan (CPP) in the whole of England for each consecutive year. Similarly, the rate of referrals for children in need (CIN) has consistently been the highest for England during this period.
Ensuring children grow up in a safe, secure and supportive environment is key to reducing the impact of trauma and distress in early years and the subsequent impact on adult health and well being in later years.
