Job summary

Working as a Staff Nurse on the Inpatient Unit, you will provide a high standard of nursing care working within best practice guidelines.

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £30,869-£38,018, pro rata, Hospice Band 5, Competency Based Pay Framework. Enhancements of between 30% and 60% for weekend, bank holidays and unsocial hours.

Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week(Monday to Sunday, including nights)

Based at: Inpatient Unit, Little Hulton

The successful candidate will be subject to a Standard/Enhanced DBS Check, the cost of which is covered by the hospice. Any post holder within the organisation will be expected to undertake safeguarding training appropriate to their role and adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures. All staff must work in accordance with their statutory roles and responsibilities in relation to safeguarding in accordance with the Working Together to Safeguarding Children 2023, The Care Act 2014, and Prevent Duty 2015.

Main duties of the job

The Staff Nurse delivers compassionate specialist palliative care, working within a multi-disciplinary team to ensure high standards on each shift. Responsibilities include planning, evaluating, and supervising patient care, supporting learners and unregistered staff, and contributing to service delivery across sites when needed. Career development is supported through a unique competency-based framework.
