Job summary

We're looking for a reliable and compassionate Maintenance Driver to support the smooth running of our hospice, helping to ensure a safe, comfortable environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Contract: Bank

Salary: Hospice Band 2 - £12.47 per hour.

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday between 08:00 17:00 to cover absence as and when required

Location: Cross Site - Heald Green & Little Hulton

The successful candidate will be subject to a Enhanced DBS Check, the cost of which is covered by the hospice. Any post holder within the organisation will be expected to undertake safeguarding training appropriate to their role and adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures. All staff must work in accordance with their statutory roles and responsibilities in relation to safeguarding in accordance with the Working Together to Safeguarding Children 2023, The Care Act 2014, and Prevent Duty 2015.

Main duties of the job

The Bank Maintenance/Driver will:

  • Carry out general maintenance requests from all departments as and when required.
  • To service and repair the hospice buildings equipment and its grounds to a high standard.
  • Collect and deliver hospice supplies as and when necessary.
  • Transport patients to and from the hospice.
  • Set up rooms for meetings.
  • Be responsible for the upkeep and reporting of vehicle maintenance.

  • Convey patients as and when required for hospital appointments and home visits.
  • Carry out weekly, monthly and quarterly check lists.
  • Perform PAT testing and manage the equipment register
  • Work to statuary health and safety standards in line within our hospice policies
