Job summary

St. Rocco's Hospice is looking to recruit a palliative care HCA Band 2 to work in our In-Patient Unit working 24hrs per week primarily night shifts, however flexibility is required to work across all clinical departments.

Hours will be worked between Mon to Sun, including days, nights, evenings and weekends, on a rota system, notified by management.

Additional unsociable hour enhancements will be paid for weekend, night (8pm onwards) and bank holiday work - T&Cs apply, breaks are unpaid.

Main duties of the job

To work under the direction of the Nurse in Charge in maintaining high standards of nursing care within the unit. To be aware of strategic developments at the hospice specifically relating to the unit. To participate in clinical effectiveness initiatives and be aware of policy documents/protocols/pathways etc. and ensure implementation as appropriate. To work under the direction of the Nurse in Charge to ensure that the climate of the service is conducive to patients, relatives, spiritual, psychological and physical wellbeing.
