Job summary
St. Rocco's Hospice is looking to recruit a palliative care Staff Nurse to work in our Hospice at Home Dept. working 22.5hrs per week typically across 3 day shifts, however flexibility is required to work across all clinical departments & shift patterns as required by management.
In addition to ordinary hours of
work, you are required to participate in the Hospice at Home on-call rota and
to respond to call outs as necessary. Each on-call session will cover from
9am to 5pm, on a Sat, Sun or Bank Holiday, each on-call session will
consist of 8 hours beginning at 9am. The Hospice will pay an on-call allowance
of £50.00 per on-call session.
The post is not a salary
incremental post and pay reviews are at the discretion of the Hospice.
Additional unsociable hour enhancements will be paid for weekend, night (8pm onwards) and bank holiday work - T&Cs apply, breaks are unpaid.
Main duties of the job
To work under the direction of the Team Leader in aspects of management, leadership and co-ordination of the service and its activities ensuring high standards of patient care are maintained in accordance with all St Roccos Hospice policies, procedures and guidelines. To work in collaboration with community teams and partner organisation to facilitate and provide Specialist Palliative and End of Life Care for patients in the Warrington area.
To be aware of strategic developments at the hospice specifically relating to the Hospice at Home service. To support the Team Leader where required with the development and delivery of the strategic business plan objectives aligned to the strategy of the hospice.
To participate in clinical effectiveness initiatives and development of policy documents/protocols/pathways etc. and ensure implementation as appropriate.
To work under the direction of the Team Leader to support the co-ordination, development and management of the Hospice at Home service offered at St Roccos Hospice.
To work under the direction of the Team Leader to ensure that the climate of the service is conducive to patients/relatives spiritual, psychological and physical well-being.
To work under the direction of the Team Leader with the continuous updating/auditing and developing of the care and quality assurance initiatives in collaboration with other staff.
