Job summary

This is a crucial role, leading a team of 5 CPEP project workers across the Devon Health and Social Care System, delivering the 12 month CPEP project. The project will increase the availability of Nursing and AHP placements in community settings, primary care and social care to enable trusts to host greater numbers of learners across Devon.

This is a fantastic and challenging opportunity to work across the whole Devon Health and Social Care system to create new Nursing and AHP learner capacity for the system, providing for the future workforce needs of Devon.

This will require development of new working relationships, gaining the trust and respect of GP Practice and social care leaders, creating useful tools to support providers and promoting innovative models for placements.

Job responsibilities

Key Dimensions, Tasks and Responsibilities of the Post:

Lead Placement Development in Primary and Social Care across Devon:

Manage, in collaboration with their Employers, the work of the five CPEP Project Workers

Work collaboratively with the Trust Education, Nursing and AHP leads, to develop the planning for learner placements.

Ensure the CPEP team works with senior clinical staff, other organisations in the health community and Placement staff within Higher Education institutions, to develop new quality clinical placements that provide learners with the appropriate clinical experiences across the duration of their pre-registration programmes to maximise placement capacity.

Work in collaboration with the HEIs and academic staff/ staff involved in learner placements to explore how clinical supervisors, assessors and learners can be developed and supported in a manner that is consistent with national guidance, local education quality standards and any education contract requirements

Lead, advise, develop and ensure quality of learning opportunities within a multi-professional framework in order that the service users receive a high standard of care

Collate Data and provide quality assurance to HEE and the Project Reference Group

Lead regular meetings of the project reference group

Oversee the provision of supervisors/ assessors updates /training for nursing and AHPs across Devon

Oversee the liaison with primary care and social care providers to ensure all pre-registration learners receive appropriate local induction

Act as Lead representative for DTH between everyone on the CPEP project reference group

Advise project workers working with Trust Finance Leads to support payment of placement tariffs.

Collate the evidence and report on compliance to ensure that the Project meets all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) set by Health Education England (HEE)

Develop a live register of supervisors/ assessors in the community and provide monthly data to the project reference group

Develop templates for primary care and social care to use on Higher Education Institutions placement platforms to ensure information is contemporary

Develop innovative ways of telling primary care and social care of the benefits of having learners in their organisations

Develop innovative webinars and learning packages for managers in social and primary care to learn about new models of placements such as CLiP, new technologies, virtual placements.

Work collaboratively with HEE, Trusts and Devon Training Hub to develop a culture of high quality learning across Devon Health and Social Care.

Attend and report to the National CPEP reference group as required.
