Job summary

Local Care Direct is a non-profit Social Enterprise operating across 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, to provide a range of primary and urgent healthcare services across West Yorkshire supporting the Local Community.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and knowledgeable Infection Prevention and Control Lead Nurse to join our corporate clinical team part-time working 22.5 hours per week.

The Infection Prevention and Control Lead Nurse would have a main base at one of our corporate sites but would work across all Local Care Direct sites as required.

Main duties of the job

TheInfection Prevention and Control Lead Nurse will lead in providing specialist advice, guidance and support Local Care Direct and its health professionals and staff on all matters regarding Infection Prevention and Control.

They will also ensure compliance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Updated Dec 22) and the associated cleaning standards. Along with leading on policy and guidance, clinical audits and the organisations flu campaign.

Job Purpose:

  • To continue to raise the profile of Infection Prevention and Control (IP&C) throughout the organisation
  • To ensure that Local Care Direct continually improves its IP&C performance by developing systems that are evidence based and grounded in best practice

KEY PRINCIPLES

Leadership & Management

  • Provide high profile support to all sites to ensure compliance with IP&C policy
  • To work as a member of the Senior Clinical team to develop the Clinical Services and Clinical Governance Operating plans
  • Provide leadership in the planning, implementation, training and monitoring on all aspects of IPC within the organisation
  • To uphold and promote Local Care Direct values and ensure these are translated into working practices and service design
  • To maintain the highest standards of conduct
  • To ensure that the quality of patient care is firmly at the centre of the organisations objectives and vision
  • Liaise with the operational team to set service quality standards for cleanliness and participate in the monitoring of controls(including COSHH) and service level agreements
  • Develop systems to ensure that all plans are reviewed, at least annually, and monitor implementation of any changes
  • To support the clinical governance structures of the organisation
  • Implement IPC aspects of the clinical governance programme
