Main duties of the job
As our PR & Communications Assistance Apprentice, you will support our Communications
& Engagement Manager to deliver PR & communication
activities.
We are looking for an apprentice who wants to get
stuck in from day one and make a difference. They will undertake (but not be restricted to) the
following activities as part of the role:

Creating written & visual content appropriate to
a range of audiences for new campaigns.

Work with colleagues on the
creation & delivery of Business communications (inc. Staff Briefings, External Case Studies, Social Media Graphics, News Releases).

Build professional relationships with colleagues
& partners.

Stay close to new social media trends & changes within the platforms.

Support LCDs response in an
emergency acting as a loggist, noting down all decisions made.

Provide administrative support to the
Communications & Engagement Manager & the Executive team.

Act as the face of LCD, answering
the corporate phone line & entrance.

Monitor & evaluate the effectiveness & impact of LCD's communication & engagement activities.
- Supporting with the production of reports on patient feedback.

Support events such as Leadership forums & annual awards.
In addition, LCD will support you to fulfil the requirements of
your apprenticeship & gain the experience needed. This means we may deploy you across other activities that meet
these needs.

- Work with Local Care Direct colleagues on the creation and delivery of key messages, which will include researching content.
- Build professional relationships with colleagues and partners across the health and care system.
- Stay close to new social media trends and changes within the platforms, understanding when and which social media channel is appropriate and incorporating it into a PR, communications, and/or engagement campaign.
- Support Local Care Direct's response in an emergency acting as a loggist, noting down all decisions made.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness and impact of Local Care Direct's communication and engagement activities, as well as supporting with the production of reports on patient feedback.
- Support events such as Leadership forums and internal annual awards, which may involve liaising with suppliers, assessing accessibility, managing attendance lists, etc.
- To attend internal and external meetings representing Local Care Direct and engaging in discussions appropriate to the role and level of the post.
- Provide general administrative support to the Communications and Engagement Manager and the Executive team, including but not limited to ordering supplies, maintaining Local Care Directs Membership Register, monitoring shared mailboxes, monitoring media and/or social media and logging coverage, and providing cover where required.
